About
I am a Professor and the Area Chair in the Communication and Media Management area of Fordham University's Schools of Business. I also direct Fordham's Donald McGannon Communication Research Center, as well as the Graduate School of Business' Center for Communications, and serve as the Series Editor for the Center's Everett C. Parker Book Series. I also currently serve as a Knight Media Policy Fellow at the New America Foundation and as a Docent in the Department of Communication at the University of Helsinki.
My research interests focus on media institutions and media policy. I have two books that were recently published: Audience Evolution: New Technologies and the Transformation of Media Audiences (Columbia University Press) and Communications Research in Action: Scholar-Activist Collaborations for a Democratic Public Sphere (Fordham University Press), which I co-edited with Minna Aslama.
My previous books include Audience Economics: Media Institutions and the Audience Marketplace (Columbia University Press, 2003) and Foundations of Communications Policy: Principles and Process in the Regulation of Electronic Media (Hampton Press, 2001).
